Volunteers are needed for After-School Tutoring! The St. Joseph tutoring program offers academic support to students in all grades preK-8. Volunteers from around New York offer individual attention to assist in everything from basic reading to high school algebra. Tutors work one on one with Tutoring sessions will be on Monday and Wednesday and will run from 2:40-5:30. Tutors are asked to come one day a week for one hour within that time frame. We ask tutors to commit for the semester, with the exclusion of finals for college students of course! All tutors will go through an orientation to acquaint them with the school, tutoring in general and the program itself. Jonathan Martin, the Development Director and faculty moderator of this program, will be in the classroom at all times and will be available throughout to the week to answer any questions or help in any way to make the experience as productive and enjoyable as possible. If you are interested in tutoring or other volunteering (see below!) please fill out the following form. Volunteer in other ways St. Joseph Most volunteers who work at St. Joseph participate in our tutoring program. However, if tutoring does not work there are limited volunteer opportunities available in science, art, sports, chess, music, photography, newspaper, mock trial or language acquisition. These opportunities are both after school and during the day. If any of these interest you, please email us at sjs@stjosephnyc.org. |
